Relational & Contextual Leadership
Leadership is relational and contextual. Leadership challenges rarely sit within one person alone. How we lead is shaped by the ongoing interaction between our inner world, our relationships and the cultures, structures, power dynamics and wider systems around us.
There is also rarely one “correct” way to understand a complex situation. That is why Inner Pivot brings together multiple evidence-informed perspectives including coaching psychology, adult development, systems thinking, complexity science and practical wisdom to help leaders see situations from different angles and exercise wiser judgement in context.
Meet Selina
Selina Li is the founder of Inner Pivot Leadership, a leadership coach and an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
The unexpected loss of her father became an important turning point in her life, prompting deeper reflection on purpose, leadership and what truly matters.
Her perspective is also shaped by migration, mental-health recovery, neurodivergence, LGBTQIA+ family life and the ongoing work of understanding intergenerational trauma. Together, these experiences deepen her commitment to leadership grounded in dignity, belonging, cultural humility, practical wisdom and shared humanity.
Selina brings 15 years of experience in the Australian Federal Government, including as a Senior Instructor at the Australian Border Force College. She holds master’s degrees in Coaching Psychology and Social Justice.
In 2025, Selina received an ICF Coaching Social Impact Awards Honourable Mention for expanding access to coaching and leadership development for people creating positive social impact.

The Inner Pivot identity reflects the belief that meaningful leadership begins with awareness.
The brushstroke circle represents wholeness, movement and the continuing nature of learning. The Chinese characters 心道 (Xin Dao) express the path of inner wisdom.
For us, this is not about endlessly striving to become someone better. It is about reconnecting with the wisdom already within us, becoming more aware of what shapes us and choosing how we want to show up.
